Our outside are a hard and flexible layer of proteins called cuticle that is very like hair – it forms a stiff outer skeleton – an exoskeleton onto which out limbs are jointed. Inside is rather more squishy, but we have the same sorts of parts as human – muscles, organs, blood vessels (although our blood is called haemolymph).
