In our aquaria we feed our catsharks every 2-3 days with enough fish or shrimp to fill them up. To figure out what sharks eat in the wild and how often they are eating you need to catch them and examine their stomach contents. This has been done for catsharks in the mediterranean and shows that about 27% of them have empty stomachs at any time suggesting that on average they can go several days without food in the wild too. We also know that their feeding intensity changes depending on the seasons and their age. There is still a lot to figure out though.
